Each year, the Faith Driven Birth Academy hosts an optional one-day, in-person Hands-On Skills Workshop in Central California. This immersive training brings the entire Hands-On Skills Handbook to life through live demonstrations, guided practice, mentorship, and collaborative learning.


This workshop is designed for students, graduates, birth professionals, and anyone interested in strengthening their hands-on support techniques.You do not need to be a Certified Hands-On Skills Practitioner (HSPro) or a Certified Faith Driven Doula to attend. Whether you're exploring birth work for the first time, expanding your current services, or investing in continuing education, this workshop provides practical skills you can immediately begin applying in your birth practice.


Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Practice the complete Hands-On Skills Handbook alongside experienced instructors.
  • Refine body mechanics, positioning, comfort measures, and birth support techniques.
  • Build confidence through guided, hands-on instruction.
  • Network with students, graduates, and birth professionals from across the region.
  • Earn valuable continuing education while investing in the growth of their birth business.

Whether you're preparing for certification or simply looking to elevate the quality of care you provide, this workshop offers a full day of practical education, encouragement, and professional development in a supportive learning environment. Attendance is completely optional but highly recommended for anyone wanting to grow their confidence and hands-on skill set.

A: Our training is a Christ-centered, vocational program that equips you to serve families as a Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Hands-On Skills Practitioner. We combine biblical foundations, evidence-based education, and practical tools so you graduate prepared to serve in homes, hospitals, and birth centers.

  • Faith-centered curriculum rooted in God’s design for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care
  • 25+ hours of advanced training, including Perinatal Neurobiological Physiology and Functional Physiological Birth System Hands-On Skills Training
  • Certification from The Positive Pregnancy Journey Organization, verified as an exempt institution under California Education Code §94874(f)
  • Prepares you for insurance and Medicaid reimbursement where available

A: The program runs for 12 weeks online, self paced, with recorded sessions, community engagement, and access to instructor support.

A: No! Our program is designed for beginners and for those already working in birth work who want to expand and ground their practice in faith.

A: Yes. Faith Driven Doula Training is a legally established educational program. It is verified as exempt under California Education Code §94874(f). Students enroll from across the United States and internationally, and graduates receive verifiable certifications upon successful completion. Professional practice requirements, insurance recognition, and state-specific regulations vary by jurisdiction.

A: Graduates earn 3 certifications in 1 program:

Hands-On Skills Practitioner

A: No. Your certification does not expire and there are no annual membership dues or renewal fees required to maintain your credential. To help graduates stay current with evolving best practices and curriculum updates, we offer free voluntary recertification every two years. Recertification is recommended—but never required—and allows you to review updated course material, maintain current knowledge, and receive an updated certificate reflecting the latest edition of the training. Your original certification remains valid for life.

Depending on your state, employer programs, Medicaid policies, and private insurance plans, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement after completing any required registration or credentialing steps. Our program provides guidance on obtaining an NPI (National Provider Identifier), understanding insurance credentialing pathways, and navigating available reimbursement opportunities where applicable. Coverage and eligibility vary by state and payer.
